Material request for the winter edition of the LOA magazine.
Have you got a story to tell or some information from your area? We’d love to hear from you.
Please get your Sou’wester thinking cap on and explore this very unusual year for the seeds of an article for the magazine. Let members know what has happened to you or your boat this season; perhaps like me you’ve found your boat to be the ideal solution to lockdown (when you could eventually get aboard!).
I’ve seen reports of sailors who were already at sea or set off as lockdown started – perhaps there is a Leisure Owner amongst you with such a tale to tell. Perhaps the situation has led you to reflect on life at sea or lake or loch or river. Maybe you finally found time to do that maintenance that’s been crying out for attention. Maybe you’ve found a really interesting or useful online video that others could benefit from.
From the LO Facebook page I can see lots of action; 10.5 knots in a L20 in the Solent, trips to Asgog, Argyll and Bute, posts from Norway and Sweden and of course lots of news in the Dutch section. So why not develop these into an article so it won’t disappear into the ether?
Note we haven’t set a deadline for submissions but to be included try not to leave it too close to December, please.
Bearing in mind your access to the LOA website and Facebook pages and the type of information they contain, please also let us know what you would like to see in the magazine: what types of article, more news from your area, more technical reviews (e.g. boats, navigation, motors, moorings, etc.), events information, Facebook highlights, competitions, book/video reviews?
Articles, images and ideas may be sent to email@example.com
I look forward to hearing from you and a fair wind to all,
