The little yacht finished the voyage by sailing across the Bay of Biscay from Vigo in Spain, at the end of November! Unfortunately the skipper was without papers and was deported forthwith back to Turkey. Full story on link below.
Leisure owners recognised the yacht as an L17 which was duly sold on Ebay by the Plymouth harbourmaster. The yacht was brought to Shoreham By Sea in January 2013 for a refit.
Most unsually this L17 features hydraulic wheel steering. You can sail from inside the cabin, feet up with just a finger on the wheel.
Drop out a pin and the yacht can be returned to tiller steering in conventional fashion.
After refurbishment the L17 has been used for cruising the South Coast.
